Opioid and meth use has become an increasing concern in Door County over the past several years, as the county has caught up to addiction trends in other parts of the state and country. Local officials in law enforcement and health and human services, as well as those involved in recovery programs, say they’re alarmed by trends in opioid use and polysubstance use locally.

Door County Knock and the League of Women Voters of Door County co-hosted a community forum on these issues on Aug. 9, 2023, covering what’s happening in the county, what resources are available and where the community can go from here. The event featured a panel discussion including local officials and service providers who work on these issues daily and people who have experienced addiction.
