Tag: Opioid and Meth Addiction in Door County

Opioid and meth use has become an increasing concern in Door County over the past several years, as the county has caught up to addiction trends in other parts of the state and country. Local officials in law enforcement and health and human services, as well as those involved in recovery programs, say they’re alarmed by trends in opioid use and polysubstance use locally. Door County Knock reported this series over the course of several months in 2023, featuring residents in recovery and covering how the county got here, the state of the issue now and where the community can go from here. The series also included a community forum on the issue, co-hosted with the League of Women Voters of Door County.
