The Ephraim Village Board will hear a presentation from the Ephraim-Gibraltar Airport Commission on Phase 2 of the Airport Master Plan that includes proposed runway extensions, rebuilding runways and hanger development options at the board meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Commission unanimously supported a plan with a 3,000-foot runway, which is a 300-700 foot extension of the existing runway. The Egg Harbor Village Board will enter a closed session to deliberate and negotiate the purchase of public properties, the investing of public funds and other specified public business requiring competitive or bargaining confidentiality, specifically regarding agreements for Joint Fire Protection Services and Joint Ballfield and Cemetery operations at the board meeting on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The board will convene to open session to take further action. - The body of 81-year-old Michael J. Kennedy from Brookfield, Wisconsin was found in the water near a dock at Chambers Island Marina on May 7, according to a Door County Sheriff’s Office May 8 Facebook post. The Gibraltar Police Department was notified at 5:15 p.m. on May 7, and requested the Sheriff’s Office’s assistance. Emergency personnel from the Gibraltar Fire Department, Gibraltar Emergency Medical Responders, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Door County Emergency Services, Gibraltar Police Department and
theDoor County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Based on preliminary findings, foul play is not suspected at the time of the Facebook post. The incident remains under investigation, and an autopsy is being conducted at the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
