The Sister Bay Village Board will discuss a proclamation declaring June 2026 as “Open Door Pride Month” at the board meeting on Tuesday. The proclamation said LGBTQIA+ residents and visitors have had “an immeasurable impact on the cultural, civic, and economic success” of the village and said Sister Bay is “strengthened by respect and appreciation for all.” Read the agenda.

- Door County Public Health announced that 73-year-old Imelda Delchambre has spent the last 29 years working for Door County Medical Center helping community members overcome poverty and language barriers to access medical care, according to a May 15 Facebook post. Delchambre was inducted into the Door County Medical Center’s Legacy of Door County Women’s gallery.
🗓️ Community & Non-Profit Events
- Gibraltar Area School District’s fourth-graders will host a lip sync battle on May 21 at 2 p.m. to raise funds for Mrs. Hucek, who is battling multiple myeloma cancer. The event will take place at the Door Community Auditorium with a suggested $5 donation at the door.
- Anchored Roots Vineyard & Winery will host “Sunset Sips” with live music by Brothers Gunn and food by The Wandering Table Food Truck on Friday at 4 p.m.
- Brussels will host the “Brussels Sprouts Small Business Shop Hop” from May 22-25, where shoppers can visit each participating businesses, collect a stamp at each shop and turn in a completed card for a chance to win Brussels Small Business Gift Cards and other prizes.
