The Sturgeon Bay Common Council will discuss approving a $35,000 proposal for the Door County Economic Development Corporation to conduct a housing study at its meeting on Tuesday. Door County most recently conducted a housing study in 2018, but the organization seeks to evaluate what has been accomplished since then and analyze market and employment changes that have affected the housing landscape. The study would examine the effects of national and local housing trends and identify potential solutions to barriers for housing development and affordability. Read the agenda.
🪑 Memorial Benches – Sister Bay Village Board (Tuesday, 6 p.m.)
The Sister Bay Village Board will discuss a revised Commemorative Bench Program policy at its meeting on Tuesday. The program includes a new tiered placement system that distinguishes high-demand waterfront locations from secondary sites, and a standardized $3,000 installation fee replacing the previous $1,000 donation. - Wisconsin Department of Health Services announced that nymphal (blacklegged) deer ticks are currently at peak activity and are more likely to transmit Lyme disease than adult ticks due to their small size and tendency to go unnoticed, according to a June 10 press release. DHS recommends wearing permethrin-treated clothing, and doing daily tick checks after spending time outdoors.

- The Peninsula School of Art & Guenzel Gallery will host a “Slow Art” event led by artist and educator Kristi Roenning on Wednesday at 10 a.m. This event invites participants to spend 10 minutes with a single work from the current exhibition before gathering as a group to discuss their observations.
- Belgian Heritage Center will host “Door County History Days” that will cover the history of the Belgian settlement area between 1776 and 1900 on Thursday at 1 p.m.
- Evergreen Miniature Golf will host “Glow Ball Night,” which will feature bright colors and glow-in-the-dark holes on Friday at 8:30 p.m.I.
