✈️ Airport Master Plan – Village of Ephraim (Monday, 7 p.m.)
The Ephraim Village Board will discuss the village’s future position on the future expansion of the Ephraim/Gibraltar Airport at its meeting on Tuesday. The board is expected to reaffirm its opposition to expanding the airport beyond its current boundaries or “the accommodation of larger aircraft beyond the current mix of aircraft.” According to the village’s packet, the board will request that a proposed expansion area north of the existing hangars be removed from the airport’s master plan. The discussion comes as the airport’s master plan includes proposals to add more hangars and extend the runway by about 3,000 feet beyond its current 2,697-foot length. Read the agenda.
✏️ Referendum – Sturgeon Bay Board of Education (Wednesday, 6 p.m.)
The Sturgeon Bay Board of Education will receive an informational update regarding the replacement educational programming operational referendum currently planned for Nov. 3 at its meeting on Wednesday. Read the agenda.

🔊Announcements
- The Door County Historical Society received two statewide honors from the Wisconsin Historical Society during its 100th anniversary year, according to a July 10 press release. The organization earned the Reuben Gold Thwaites Trophy for Local History and the Historic Rehabilitation Award for the restoration of the 1868 Eagle Bluff Light Station in Fish Creek.
🗓️ Community & Non-Profit Events
- The Art, Craft and Amish Quilt Sale returns to Fernwood Garden Ballroom from Thursday through Sunday, which will feature hand-quilted Amish quilts, local artisan demonstrations, handmade gifts and Amish foods. The event runs daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Southern Door’s Farmer’s Market will be held on Friday at DENN, which will feature more than 30 local vendors offering produce, handmade goods, and products. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- PenArt will host “Beat the Heat: Cyanotypes” art workshop Saturday, where participants can create sun-powered prints using found materials from 9 a.m. to noon.
