🖼️  Museum Project – County Board of Supervisors (Tuesday, 9 a.m.)

The County Board of Supervisors will consider authorizing up to $3.3 million to begin Phase III construction of the Door County Museum and Archives Project at its meeting on Tuesday. The project includes upgrades to the Door County Historical Museum and renovations to the former Younkers building in Sturgeon Bay to create a new museum archives facility, meeting space and tenant space. Construction bids totaled approximately $2.93 million, about 2% above the project estimate, but remain within the county’s nearly $5 million budget for the project. Read the agenda

🧑‍💼  School Leadership – Gibraltar Board of Education (Monday, 9 a.m.)

The Gibraltar Board of Education will discuss the introduction of new Secondary Principal Andrew Holdmann and the 2026-2027 school year plan at a special working session on Monday. Holdmann, a lifelong resident and district graduate, began serving as secondary principal on July 1. Read the agenda

  • Door County Public Health announced it is hiring a Public Health Nurse to support Maternal Child Health programs and “broader community initiatives,” according to a July 20 Facebook post

🗓️  Community & Non-Profit Events

  • Door County Medical Center will host the 65th annual House & Garden Walk on Tuesday. The event will offer self-guided tours of eight homes, garden and historic sites throughout Door County to benefit Door County Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Campaign. 
  • Downtown Sturgeon Bay will host its annual Sail Thru The Avenues Sidewalk Sale on Thursday, which will feature citywide bargains, local art, and other merchandise. Third Avenue will be closed to traffic for the event. 
  • Crossroads at Big Creek will host “Journeys with Joan” on Tuesday, where participants can explore Door County geology.
